Strange things are afoot

What's in a name?

...Or they may be. I'm thinking about how I want to organise my online output. I know, calm yourselves Ladies.

The Pure Hokum website looks good, and it's a useful corporate presence (ugh) to have but it's no fun. This site is a lot more fun, but it doesn't do anything for... (pass the bucket, quick!)... the BRAND.

I've just re-read Derek Sivers book "Anything You Want", which is about running a company, which I guess I am kind of doing now. Derek, if I may call him that, makes the point that your company can be whatever you want it to be - you don't have to follow rules (laws yes, rules no), a company can be your personal playground and a reflection of your personality. It doesn't have to be boring, is the point.

Pure Hokum as a company is not boring, but the website is a little dry. Cartoon Gravity feels more like a playground, but it's not linked up to anything else.

So I'm thinking maybe I rebrand this place as Pure Hokum. No changes for you guys, you just stay put and the place changes around you. I keep doing what I'm doing here, but give it a new name, a lick of paint, and different address. People who come looking for the company will find all of this nonsense, and I feel like that speaks more to what I do than a bunch of semi-corporate production-speak.

Anyway, I'm thinking out loud, which is what this place is meant to be for (and long may it continue). And yes, of course I'm thinking about this at the same time as I'm transforming the Cartoon Gravity Club into the Pendragon Club, and fulfilling a Kickstarter campaign, and launching another crowdfund, and I just changed my entire email set-up yesterday (Fastmail FTW!) and I'm meant to be pitching a movie and finishing a novel and writing a new film and talking to people about a TV show. And I just discovered that the bread is mouldy so I won't be eating tonight because we're about to record a special bonus episode of the new Lovecraft Investigations show and there's no time to go to the shops... But apart from that, there's nothing going on so I can just let my mind wander...
