A new plan...

A new plan for DAILY updates!

A new plan...

I've been pondering lots of things over the past week or so (because I have been on screaming deadlines, obviously), and one of those things is how I engage with Cartoon Gravity.

As of today, I am setting up a reminder to post to this site DAILY. Yes, you read that right, DAILY. The posts don't have to be long or even particularly coherent, but they need to happen because I need to build a habit, a muscle memory of these things. Every day I see something cool or interesting, and I mostly set those things aside for inclusion here at some later date and then, more often than not, forget about them. Well NO MORE! Now, the idea is that those things will go up every day, maybe even more than once a day. Then, once a week, I can email out a distillation of the chaos to those who don't use the RSS feed.

For those who do use RSS, the link is https://www.cartoongravity.com/rss/

I suspect (hope) that RSS is making a comeback because it allows us to see the news and articles we might be interested in without all the surrounding noise and, I'm going to use the word, brouhaha. Every morning, I click on my RSS page and am presented with wonders (wonders, I tell you!) from around the internet - things which wouldn't otherwise get to me via social media or standard news sites, and it's a great, inspiring way to start the day.

If you fancy a piece of this, I recommend Inoreader as a good place to start. It looks a little daunting, and there are certainly simpler sites, but Inoreader seems to me to have the best options and features once you're underway. You might want to add the Reeder app as your front end, if you're into a more elegant, minimal feel.

To get you going, a handful of feeds:

Diaries of Note
Messy Nessy Chic
The Marginalian
The Spaces

So anyway, DAILY bits and pieces here on Cartoon Gravity, which you will get on your RSS feed if you don't want to wait for the weekly round-up.

I could say more, but then I might have nothing to tell you tomorrow...
