Cal Newport is always worth paying attention to. He has written a list of the books he read in December 2021, which is interesting. Within that, he made reference to his recent New Yorker piece on Slow Productivity.

Unlike a lot of screenwriters, I tend not to read produced screenplays if I can help it. But I know a lot of people find them helpful/inspiring. Aaron Sorkin is clearly one of the best in the business and his script for the excellent "Being The Ricardos" is available to read HERE.

A little art for your morning, in the shape of Clare Partington's ceramics, some of which could be considered to have a Lovecraftian vibe.

Also from Colossal, lamps and planters in the style of Soviet-era buildings.

Lastly, I posted this on Twitter yesterday, but in case you missed it, the story of Matisse's assistant, Lydia Delectorskaya, is really interesting.

Have a good day.
